I started my career as a teacher for Manteca Unified School District. During my 10 years there I taught Kindergarten, first grade, Reading Recovery, and Reading Intervention for grades 2-5. I obtained my Administrative Services Credential in 2004 and began working for San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE). At SJCOE, I coordinated a California Department of Education grant-funded educational program focusing on early literacy and best instructional practices in early childhood settings for the 5 counties of Region 6: Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne. After 13 years at SJCOE, I transitioned to Riverbank Unified School District where I served as a site principal for 4 years. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the Riverbank community and my experiences there furthered my development as an administrator. I became principal of Colony Oak during the 2021-2022 school year. I am happy to be back “home” in San Joaquin County and look forward to continuing to serve the great students and families at Colony Oak. My favorite part of each day is when I get to spend time interacting with students.
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Psychology, along with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration through California State University, Stanislaus. The 2022-2023 school year marks my 29th year as an educator.
Our entire staff is committed to providing an excellent educational experience for all of our students. Our teachers are invested in providing an engaging, rigorous, and comprehensive educational program. I consider it a privilege to serve alongside them.
